Iowa VFW is a proud supporter of Camp Courageous, an exceptional and heartwarming year-round recreational and respite facility for individuals with special needs and their families which is supported completely on the generosity of donations.

The Camp is located in Eastern Iowa south of Monticello, in a beautiful location, surrounded by state parkland and the Maquoketa River… but at the heart of Camp Courageous is an exceptional staff that makes the campers stay one they will remember forever.

The camp has a new all-accessible Miniature Golf course, a zipline, which provides the campers a thrill, the Rotary Music Park - a favorite for all campers able to make their own music.  There is also the Penaluna Tunnel which looks like they are going into a cave, but once in, there are opportunities to travel the world, taking selfies of famous locations or the tunnel is transformed for Halloween and other special times.  And there is the Mainliner Memorial Park where campers can reflect on all those who sacrificed for what we may take for granted…
