Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal

You may be eligible for the Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal if you are a Korean War veteran. The medal is an expression of appreciation from the Korean government to US servicemen and women who served in the Korean War.

The VFW has been a vocal opponent of predatory claim shark companies who charge veterans illegal fees for sub-par VA benefit claims assistance. The VFW will stop Claim Sharks and we are eager to serve alongside you in this fight.

2026 Iowa State Fair Booth

THOSE VOLUNTEERING AT THE IOWA FAIR FOR THE VFW CAN PICKUP ENTRANCE TICKETS AT VFW POST 738 WHEN THEY SIGN IN TO VOLUNTEER. Click on the "Booth Schedule" link to view available shifts at the VFW and Auxiliary Booth located in the Varied Industries Building during the Iowa State Fair on the calendar (in the event description). Click on the "Shift Request Form" link to request to work a shift at the Booth. Shifts are assigned in the order that requests are received. The optimum number of volunteers in the Booth per shift is 2, with a maximum of 3. The calendar will be updated at the end of every business day.

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.
